HOW TO INSTALL A DRUPAL TEMPLATE
Complete Instructions for Installing a Drupal Template

When following the below instructions to install your Drupal Template you must already have the Drupal CMS installed on your website and you must have downloaded your ThemeStock.com template and have it readily available.

Step 1 in Installing a Drupal Template:

The file that you have downloaded from ThemeStock.com will have a file name similar to:

TS-DRUPAL-TemplateName.zip

Locate the folder on your hard drive where that template was downloaded to, and extract the zip file with WinZip or another similar extraction program. Extracting the file is typically as simple as right-clicking the file and clicking on "extract to here" as illustrated below:

After you have successfully extracted your files you will have a folder name similar to TS-DRUPAL-TemplateName which will contain 3 subfolders named PSD, HTML, and DrupalTemplate as pictured below:

Step 2 in Installing a Drupal Template:

Next you will need to load your FTP client. A FTP client is used to transfer files from your computer to your website hosting space. If you do not have a FTP client, some popular choices include:

AceFTP Freeware
WS_FTP
FileZilla

After your FTP software is downloaded and installed, you will need to contact your website host for specific details on how to connect to your website space.

Once you have connected to your website space, you will need to FTP to your website, load the directory of your website where Drupal is installed, and navigate to the "themes" directory in the right window pane.

In the left window pane, you will need browse to the location where the template was downloaded, which again, will have an extracted folder name similar to:

TS-DRUPAL-TemplateName

You will then enter a directory further to:

TS-DRUPAL-TemplateName\DrupalTemplate\

Once you have entered into the above directory, it is time to transfer your Drupal Skin files to your server. This is done by selecting the folder that is stored within the "DrupalTemplate" directory and dragging it to the right hand window pane. The folder name that you are uploading to your "themes" directory will be the same as title of the template. In the example below the template name is "ThemeStock-FantasticFurniture".

After the template has been uploaded to your "themes" directory of Drupal it will appear on both the left and right window panes of your FTP client as shown below:

Note: The above screen shot is of the FileZilla FTP program. The appearance and features of your own FTP program may be different.

Step 3 in Installing a DrupalTemplate:

Now that your Drupal Theme has been uploaded to your "themes" directory in FTP, it is time to log into your Drupal administration area and activate the template.

To do this, you first must open your Web Browser and open your Drupal website. This will be wherever Drupal has been installed, such as www.yoursite.com or www.yoursite.com/drupal.

Once your Drupal page is loaded in your web browser, you will need to enter your administration username and password into the login boxes. The administration username and password would have been set up when your Drupal program was first installed. If you do not know this information, you will need to contact your website host or administrator.

If you are using the default Drupal Template, then the username and password box will be on the left hand side of your screen as pictured below:

Step 4 in Installing a Drupal Template:

When you have completed your login, new options will appear on your left menu. The first link you should click is "administer". Once you have done this, the arrow next to the link will change from a sideways arrow to a down arrow, and another list of menu options will appear. From here you will click the "themes" link.

Step 5 in Installing a Drupal Template:

After you have clicked on the "themes" link, you will be taken to a theme managent page as shown below:

To activate the template that you have uploaded, simply click the "Enabled" checkbox as well as the "Default" radio button next to the template that you wish to activate and then click on the "Save configuration" button that is located at the bottom of the page.

Upon pressing the "Save configuration" button your Drupal site will instantly be transformed and your selected design will be applied to all pages, including your administration page. This change may also change the location of the links within your template:
